The Bulldog Club of America’s (“BCA”) On-Line Breeder Referral Program is an opt-in member privilege created to assist potential Bulldog puppy owners in making contact with BCA members in good standing who agree to follow BCA’s Breeder Code of Ethics.  The BCA strongly recommends that all representations, promises, statements, warranties and guarantees made by either party be in writing and signed by both parties.  Links to breeders in different states can be found below.

Why English Bulldogs, and why would somebody breed them instead of just owning them?

My first experience with the English Bulldog (actually the correct term for American Kennel Club registered dogs is Bulldog) came after my daughter begged for a “wrinkled” puppy. Not really wanting a dog that needed to stay in the house, I was opposed to this decision but her father thought differently. It took no longer than five minutes with that puppy to be addicted for life. I cannot even begin to express the love you have for a Bulldog puppy. As with any breed, Bulldogs are truly an amazing addition to the “right” home. Bulldogs are popular, in part, because of their amiability to humans, to other dogs, and to cats. They love to be with their people and usually have a smile. Although they need exercise, they only need a moderate amount – an amount that most homes today can easily give.  Read More….

PLEASE NOTE:  BCA does not resolve contractual disputes breeders and buyers. However, the BCA will conduct an investigation into filed allegations that a listed breeder has violated either BCA's Code of Ethics or  Breeder’s Code of Ethics for possible disciplinary action of the Breeder.  A puppy purchaser wanting to file a complaint against a listed breeder must complete the Breeder Complaint Form and submit it to the Division Secretary of the Breeder's residence.

As the guardian of the breed standard, the Bulldog Club of America does not condone breeding or promotion of coat colors, markings or eye colors that are not described in the standard or are disqualifications. The standard states that the colors are red, white, fawn, fallow, or any combination of the foregoing.  Patterns and markings may include brindle, piebald, ticking, black masks, black tipping, and a minimal amount of black in piebalds. All other colors or markings are a disqualification. The merle pattern is a disqualification.  The eyes should be very dark.  Blue or green eye(s) or parti-colored eye(s) are a disqualification.
